  Backdated - Here we Go to A Play!

This was a really backdated post... happened on 4 Oct, Sat. I brought sher out for a play by Act3 Theatrics! at the esplanade. It also fell coincidentally w Octoburst08, an event in celebration of Children's day. The play was narrated by the cast, Tick, Tack & Tock and titled "The leaf who dreamed plus other stories" It started w the leaf named, Nip as he discovered flora. As part of the adventure, we learned about different parts of a plant, how plants make food and their life cycle. There's also a story narrating how a flower evolved into a fruit. Towards the end of the play, the kids got to participate with some movement and dance involved. It was something different for a Saturday afternoon. And I was glad sher enjoyed herself tremendously.
After the play, we brought the kids to shokudo for some food... omelette.. while lene had her ramen as a late lunch. We sat around the play area where the kids pranced and slid down the slide... Later towards the evening, we met up with my cousin, T for dinner and chatted away, of cos w sher as an entertainer.

  Updates on S
Let's just say sher has an outgoing character... extremely sociable and make friends in minutes wherever we go. Yesterday, we went for Pat & Elis's baby full month celebration and were at Seoul Gdn. After finishing her food, she went on to explore on her own. Chatting up with the baby's grandma, like a socialite..and even talk to almost all the staff crew. She gets comfortable with everyone and makes people laugh...
The weekends was packed with events as we got 2 weddings to attend, 1 is hb's cousin wedding while the other is my ex-colleague, Linda's wedding. I went to Linda's wedding while hb, together w sher and my inlaws went to his cousin's wedding. Hubby was relating to me after the dinner that Sher asked her daddy whether she could go up the stage during the wedding. Such a bold girl.. of cos her daddy said no and told her if she wanted to go on stage, she has to practise hard on her ballet moves and in the future, she could perform on stage for the audience seated below. This girl sure likes attention unlike her parents... we tends to shy away from attention and prefer to lie low...
Another incident was related by my mum-in-law, she was telling me that sher was bugging her to change her nail polish color (vain girl), (sher always ask to apply nail polish when my mil is painting her nails) But, my mil insisted that it was good enough.. no need to change color. Sher used her whining n nagging skill and finally manage to get my mil to change it after her 2nd persistent attempt. OMG, she just knows how to work on people's weakness.

  Update on Ballet Classes
I'm still thinking of whether to continue Sher w Term 3 of Ballet Classes.. she doesn't seem to express keen interest or had been practising at home.. shall see how before we switch her to other enrichment class.

What is Classical Ballet? (Excerpt taken from Article Ballet Published September 2006)
Classical ballet is a style of ballet based on precise conventional steps performed with graceful and flowing movements. Developed from Court productions of the Renaissance, ballet was renewed under Louis X1V in the 17th century when the five primary ballet positions were developed. Significant developments in the early 19th century included pointe work (balance on the extreme tip of the toe) and the emergence of the prima ballerina – the leading female dancer in a ballet company.Russia became the centre of ballet production and performance in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Since then classical ballet has become popular in Great Britain, North America and many other countries, including New Zealand.The Royal Academy of Dance was founded in 1920 to advance the standards of teaching in classical ballet worldwide. It provides syllabi which have been carefully developed to enable a young dancer to progress through his or her dance training in planned stages.Dance is an art-form that knows no barriers and can be enjoyed by anyone. There are many benefits to students learning ballet.

These include:
posture and physical strength are improved;
co-ordination and appreciation of music are developed;
increasing confidence and self-esteem, communication skills and self-motivation are developed;
new and exciting challenges and opportunities to meet like-minded people are provided; and above all, students have fun!
